September 2022 Jobs Report
Total Non-Farm payroll employment increased by 263,000 in September. The unemployment rate decreased slightly to 3.5%. Notable job gains occurred in Leisure and Hospitality and in Healthcare. In September, average hourly earnings for all employees on private non-farm payrolls rose by 10 cents, or 0.3%, to $32.46. Over the past year, average hourly earnings have increased by 5.0%. In September, average hourly earnings of private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees rose by 10 cents, or 0.4%, to $27.77.
