Client Background
As one of Japan's largest banking groups, the organization provides a comprehensive range of commercial and investment banking services to corporate, institutional, and municipal clients. The client sought to enhance their document capture, processing, and workflow capabilities to improve efficiency in remittance and trade finance processes.
Client Need
The organization faced significant technical and operational hurdles, including:
Existing systems lacked advanced document-capturing capabilities, slowing down processing times for high-volume remittance and trade finance workflows
A solution was required to integrate seamlessly with internal databases, such as the "LTRDB," to enable real-time customer information retrieval
A lack of high-availability configuration and effective load balancing resulted in difficulties managing increasing transaction volumes
Reliance on manual processes for tracking and managing applications caused frequent delays and errors, reducing overall productivity
Absence of integration with Multi-Function Device (MFD) touch panels, shared fax folders, and internal databases hampered automation and streamlined operations
Solution
Our experts delivered a robust and scalable Datacap-based solution with the following key components:
- Datacap v8.1 Deployment: Implemented a Datacap solution with minimal customization to meet client expectations
- Platform Modernization: Built a new IBM Datacap platform designed to onboard future business processes and applications
- Workflow Definition: Established workflows to enable users, both through MFD touch panels and web interfaces, to scan, index, and manage documents
- Integration Development:
- Developed custom modules to integrate the Datacap platform with NSI Autostore for advanced document capture and routing
- Integrated with the LTRDB Database for seamless customer information retrieval and validation
- High Availability Configuration: Configured an Active-Active High Availability (HA) setup for Taskmaster servers
- Load Balancing: Deployed a network load balancer across IIS web servers to optimize performance and manage increasing transaction volumes
- Centralized Purging and Logging: Implemented the NENU Manager for automated purging of outdated database records and application logs
Realized Benefits
The implemented solution brought measurable improvements, including:
Enabled seamless processing for 150+ MFD users
Processed over 1,000+ applications daily with high availability and reduced downtime
Eliminated manual pulling and tracking of applications through automated workflows
Integrated MFD touch panels and thin client capabilities for remote indexing
Achieved smooth integration with internal bank databases for efficient customer detail validation
